These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of simpletefl.com, academy.simpletefl.com, and any related pages, services, content, products, and course materials made available by SIMPLETEFL LTD trading as simpleTEFL ("simpleTEFL", "we", "us", or "our").

By accessing or using our website, academy, or services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or services.

If you purchase a course, certificate service, or other product from us, these Terms form part of the agreement between you and simpleTEFL.

2. who we are

We are:

SIMPLETEFL LTD trading as simpleTEFL
Email: [email protected]
Registered address: 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom
Company number: 15466925

3. who can use our services

You may use our website and services only if you are legally able to enter into a binding contract.

If you are under 18, you may only use our services with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.

4. your account

You may need to create an account to access parts of our academy or services.

You agree to:

  • provide accurate, current, and complete information;
  • keep your login details secure;
  • update your information if it changes; and
  • take responsibility for activity that takes place through your account.

You must not share your account with another person or allow another person to access paid course content through your account unless we have expressly agreed otherwise in writing.

We may suspend or restrict access to your account if we reasonably believe:

  • information you provided is inaccurate;
  • your account is being misused;
  • these Terms have been breached; or
  • suspension is needed to protect our services, other users, or our business.

5. our services

simpleTEFL provides online TEFL/TESOL training and related services, which may include:

  • access to online course materials;
  • course progress tracking;
  • digital certificates;
  • printed certificate options;
  • certificate verification;
  • learner support; and
  • related information or resources.

We may update, improve, modify, remove, or replace parts of our services from time to time. We will try to avoid changes that materially reduce the value of a paid service you have already purchased, unless the change is necessary for legal, technical, security, or operational reasons.

6. course access

When you purchase a course, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the course materials for your own personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms.

Unless we expressly state otherwise on the relevant sales page, your purchase does not transfer ownership of any course content, platform content, branding, or intellectual property to you.

You must not:

  • copy, reproduce, republish, sell, sublicense, or redistribute course content;
  • share your login with others;
  • upload course content to another platform or website;
  • record, download, or scrape course materials except where we have clearly enabled this;
  • use our materials to create a competing course or service; or
  • remove notices relating to copyright, trade marks, or ownership.

7. acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the website or academy unlawfully;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to any account, system, or data;
  • interfere with the operation or security of the site or academy;
  • upload malicious code, spam, or harmful material;
  • impersonate another person;
  • submit false or misleading information;
  • misuse support channels; or
  • use our services in a way that could damage simpleTEFL, our learners, or our partners.

If we reasonably believe you have breached this section, we may suspend or terminate your access.

8. intellectual property

All intellectual property rights in our website, academy, branding, course materials, text, graphics, videos, downloads, layouts, and related content belong to us or our licensors unless stated otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms gives you any ownership rights in that content. You may only use it as permitted by these Terms and by the functionality of the website or academy.

simpleTEFL and related logos, names, and branding are our trade marks or branding assets unless otherwise stated.

9. orders, pricing, and payment

When you place an order through our website or academy, you are making an offer to purchase the relevant product or service.

A binding contract is formed when we accept your order and provide confirmation, access, or fulfilment.

Prices shown on our website are the prices in effect at the time of purchase unless there is an obvious error.

We reserve the right to:

  • update prices;
  • change offers or promotions;
  • withdraw products or services; or
  • refuse an order where we reasonably need to do so.

Payments may be processed by third-party payment providers such as Stripe or PayPal. Apple Pay or Google Pay may also be available through those providers. Your payment may be subject to the terms and privacy practices of the relevant payment provider.

We do not generally store full payment card details on our own systems.

10. digital content and cancellation rights

Many of our products are supplied as digital content or digital services.

If you are a consumer, you may have statutory cancellation rights depending on what you purchase and where you are based.

Where you purchase digital content and ask us to provide access immediately, you expressly agree that supply may begin during the cancellation period and acknowledge that your statutory right to cancel may be lost once supply begins, where the law allows this.

Where a product or service includes physical items, such as a printed certificate, different cancellation or return rules may apply.

Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove any rights you have under consumer law.

11. refunds

Our refund position is set out in our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms where applicable.

Please read the Refund Policy carefully before purchasing. It explains when refunds may be available and any conditions that apply.

If there is any conflict between these Terms and the Refund Policy on a refund-specific issue, the Refund Policy will take priority to the extent of that conflict.

12. certificates and verification

If your course includes a certificate, or if you purchase certificate-related services, you are responsible for ensuring that:

  • the name and details you provide are accurate;
  • your delivery details are correct for any printed certificate order; and
  • you review any certificate details promptly after issue.

We may provide certificate verification tools or services. You must not misuse those tools or misrepresent your completion status, certificate status, or entitlement to certification.

We reserve the right to correct, refuse, revoke, or reissue a certificate where we reasonably believe:

  • information provided was inaccurate;
  • the certificate was issued in error;
  • there has been fraud or misuse; or
  • revocation is required for legal, compliance, or integrity reasons.

13. printed certificates and shipping

If you order a printed certificate or another physical item, additional delivery terms may apply, including:

  • production times;
  • shipping times;
  • customs or import issues outside the UK;
  • address accuracy requirements; and
  • replacement or re-delivery terms where an issue was caused by inaccurate information supplied by you.

Delivery estimates are estimates only unless we expressly state otherwise.

You are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or local handling charges that apply in your country unless we expressly state otherwise.

14. support

We may provide support by email, helpdesk, or other support channels.

We aim to be helpful and responsive, but we do not guarantee a specific response time unless we have expressly agreed one.

Support is limited to the services we provide and does not include unlimited consulting, legal advice, immigration advice, or guaranteed job-placement assistance.

15. no job guarantee

Unless we expressly state otherwise in writing, simpleTEFL does not guarantee:

  • employment;
  • interviews;
  • visa eligibility;
  • acceptance by any school, recruiter, employer, or government authority; or
  • acceptance of your certificate by every organisation or country.

Any job support, guidance, or resources we provide are informational only.

16. third-party services and links

Our website and academy may integrate with or link to third-party services, websites, or providers.

We are not responsible for third-party services, websites, or content that we do not control. Your use of those services may be governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

17. privacy and cookies

Your use of our website and services is also subject to our:

  • Privacy Policy
  • Cookie Policy
  • any cookie consent choices you make through our banner or settings tools

Please read those documents carefully.

18. availability and changes

We aim to keep our website and academy available and functioning properly, but we do not promise that they will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device, browser, or network.

We may carry out maintenance, updates, upgrades, or security changes from time to time. We may suspend access where reasonably necessary for technical, legal, or security reasons.

19. disclaimers

Our website, academy, and materials are provided for general information and educational purposes.

We try to keep information accurate and up to date, but we do not guarantee that all content is always complete, accurate, or current.

Nothing on our website or in our materials is legal, immigration, tax, employment, or regulatory advice.

20. liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by negligence;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
  • breach of rights you have under consumer law that cannot be excluded.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for:

  • indirect or consequential loss;
  • loss of profits;
  • loss of business;
  • loss of opportunity;
  • loss of goodwill; or
  • loss of data,

arising out of or in connection with your use of our website or services.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you in relation to any claim arising out of or in connection with the relevant paid product or service will be limited to the amount you paid us for that product or service.

21. termination

You may stop using our website or close your account at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe:

  • you have breached these Terms;
  • your use creates legal, security, or operational risk;
  • we are required to do so by law; or
  • continued access would harm simpleTEFL, our users, or our partners.

Termination does not affect any rights or obligations that accrued before termination.

Sections that are intended to survive termination will continue to apply, including sections relating to intellectual property, liability, refunds, and governing law.

22. changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

When we do, we will update the Last updated date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we may also take additional steps to bring them to your attention.

By continuing to use the website or services after updated Terms take effect, you agree to the revised Terms.

23. general

If any part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue in full force and effect.

Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not waive our right to enforce it later.

These Terms are personal to you. You may not transfer or assign your rights or obligations under them without our prior written consent.

24. governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

If you are a consumer, you may also have the benefit of any mandatory protections available to you under the laws of the country in which you live.

If you are a business user, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or our services.
