simpleTEFL editorial policy

Our mission

Using practical, evidence-based guides, we help aspiring English teachers make confident decisions: what to study, where to work, and how to thrive in the classroom.

How we create content

  • We start from readers’ questions (search data, community threads, student FAQs).
  • We combine first-hand TEFL experience with primary sources (ministry/visa sites, employer criteria, reputable job boards, academic references).
  • Every guide includes a “Last updated” date and cites key sources.

Experience & authorship

  • Articles are written by experienced TEFL educators. Credentials are verified by simpleTEFL and disclosed on author pages.
  • High-stakes pages (e.g., visas, qualifications) may include an editorial or peer review note.

Review & fact-checking

  • We check facts against primary sources wherever possible.
  • Salary and hiring information is derived from transparent datasets (e.g., job ads, government pages) with methodology explained on-page.

Updates & versioning

  • Time-sensitive pages are reviewed at least annually or when policies change.
  • Substantive edits are noted in an Updates line (e.g., “Updated: Sep 2025—Japan JET salary band and timeline”).

Corrections

If you spot an error, email support@simpleTEFL.com or use the contact page. We correct material inaccuracies swiftly and add an “Update/Correction” note.

Independence, affiliates & sponsorships

  • We don’t accept payment to change conclusions.
  • If we use affiliate links, they are clearly disclosed on the page and never affect our editorial verdicts.

AI usage

We may use AI tools for brainstorming and grammar checks. We never publish unreviewed AI output. Human editors verify facts, add experience, and ensure sources are cited. We do not auto-generate “thin” pages or mass location variants.
